Local and integral in situ analysis of process and operational damage effects of joints (C04)

Subject Area Primary Shaping and Reshaping Technology, Additive Manufacturing
Joining and Separation Technology
Term since 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 418701707

Project Description

In C04, two complementary experimental methods for the non-destructive in situ analysis of joints in similar or dissimilar materials are developed and implemented. For this purpose, the imaging method of in situ computed tomography and the dynamic analysis of the joint by means of ultrasonic waves are combined in such a way that a spatially and temporally high-resolution analysis of the joint is possible both during its formation and under load.
