Aim of the subproject is the numerical prediction and evaluation of the fatigue life of mechanically joined components under cyclic loading and under the influence of corrosion. Within the scope of the project, the effects of relevant corrosion mechanisms on the fatigue life of mechanically joined components are investigated by using numerical methods. In addition to the influence of temperature on corrosion and fatigue life for different material pairings, pre-damage from the joining process is also taken into account in the numerical simulations. The simulation model is validated using clinched and riveted joints.
