Calculation and evaluation of process-induced structural material phenomena in FRP-metal compounds (A03)

Subject Area Lightweight Construction, Textile Technology
Term since 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 418701707

Project Description

For the prediction of the load-bearing behaviour of FRP-metal joints, a micro-scale modelling methods was developed in funding period (FP) 1 to describe the deformation behaviour of fibres and the fibre-matrix interaction during hot forming in the joining process. In FP 2, this methods will be extended on the mesoscale to consider the geometrical characteristics of textile architectures in continuous fibre reinforced thermoplastic composites. The test setup developed in FP1 will be adapted for this purpose and will be used to validate the simulation methods. For the numerical load-bearing capacity analysis, the developed material model is extended towards a scale bridging data-driven approach.
