Project Details
Interplay of the Hsp70 Ssb with ribosomes and cochaperones in the cytosol and at the ER membrane (B08)
Subject Area
Biochemistry
Term
since 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 403222702
The yeast Hsp70 chaperone Ssb and its J-protein partner RAC dynamically associate with ribosomes and assist in folding of nascent chains. We will study the mechanism of this interaction with idle and translating ribosomes and also include the so far poorly characterized nucleotide exchange factor Snl1. Furthermore, we will study the regulatory role of phosphorylation on the interplay of the ribosome-bound chaperones.
