Non-equilibrium effects on the organization of protein machineries (B07)

Subject Area Biophysics
Term since 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 403222702

Project Description

We use single molecule resonance energy transfer (smFRET) to probe kinetics in protein interactions in real time. With this we want to address the question how energy consumption affects protein complex formation. Using multicolor smFRET and other fluorescence based methods we will investigate ATP-driven succession of dynamic protein complexes using the Hsp90 machinery, the archaellum and the ribosomal protein machinery.
