Project Details
Assembly, dynamics and function of ELAV protein machineries in neurons (B02)
Subject Area
General Genetics and Functional Genome Biology
Term
since 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 403222702
In Drosophila, the protein ELAV causes an extension of the 3’ UTR of hundreds of genes, exclusively in neurons. We will dissect the assembly and modular composition of the nuclear and cytoplasmic ELAV-containing ribonucleoprotein subcomplexes. We will focus on the formation of condensates by nuclear ELAV-subassemblies and also analyse the cellular consequences caused by targeted disruption of distinct subcomplexes to elucidate their physiological functions.
