Project Description

We intend to investigate magnon propagation in magneto-electric materials with complex magnetic order. Do so we will use all electrical techniques such as the spin Hall effect, the inverse spin Hall effect and the spin Hall magneto-resistance to characterizes the type of magnetic order and to detect propagating magnons non-locally. We will control magnon transport electrically using a gate electrode and demonstrate a "magnon transistor".
