Research on passive components is increasing, but there is especially the need for a better collaborative view on magnetic components in power electronics in academics as well as in industry. This is to avoid a duplication of effort and to establish an improved exchange for an ever better development in this field. Therefore, the network wants to bring together national and international institutes that are engaged in power magnetics with the goal to establish a strong collaboration between them. The network will deal with specific questions at each network meeting with the focus on a high international impact and visibility, having the most acknowledged experts involved. The first year of the scientific network will have a strong focus on scientific exchange, literature research and project identification and initialization, the second and third year will have a strong focus on working on the projects and publication of the results in scientific journals and conferences.
