Energy Filter for Transmission Electron Microscopy
Subject Area
Condensed Matter Physics
Term
Funded in 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 424845975
The aim of this proposal is to extend time-resolved transmission electron microscopy into the areas of energy-filtered imaging and high-resolution spectroscopy. For this purpose, acquisition of an imaging energy filter is proposed, to be combined with the ultrafast transmission electron microscope (UTEM) developed at the University of Göttingen. The associated broadening of the experimental possibilities will significantly increase the information gain from ultrafast electron microscopy in the fields of structural, electronic and spin dynamics, facilitated by a range of new measurement schemes.
