Project Details
Dendritic cells as cellular targets of gut-liver communication regulating therapy induced HCC as well as CRC liver metastasis regression (B04)
Subject Area
Immunology
Term
since 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 403224013
Alterations of the gut-liver axis during chronic liver disease (CLD) shape hepatic dendritic cells´ (DCs) function and modulate immune responses during CLD progression and hepatocarcinogenesis (HCC). Project B04 studies how the gut-liver axis affects hepatic DC differentiation during HCC-directed therapy, determines the functional impact of HCC-directed therapy on the gut-liver axis and characterises the consequences of gut-liver axis mediated DC alterations on treatment response against HCC and liver metastasis. These approaches will enable the identification of novel therapeutic axes to advance treatment regimens targeting the tumour microenvironment in patients with liver tumours.
