Project Description

The main goal of our project is to deduce exact and explicit results for dynamical correlation functions of the Heisenberg-Ising chain (XXZ chain) in equilibrium with a heat bath of temperature T. We believe that this is now possible due to the novel 'thermal form factor expansion' developed during the first funding period of our research group. We expect to obtain explicit results for the long-time, large-distance asymptotics of two-point functions as well as for the high-temperature asymptotics at any fixed space-time point. We are hoping moreover, that the thermal form factor expansion will prove to be numerically efficient which would enable us to calculate the dynamical properties of quasi-one-dimensional magnetic compounds at finite temperatures.
