Project Description

The proposal investigates the current fluctuations for driven one-dimensional lattice gases which, amongst other applications, are used to model ionic conductors, surface growth, and domain walls in bond disordered ferromagnets. Our aim is to study within specific models the precise statistics of the fluctuations of the time-integrated current and to relate them to the corresponding large deviations. The large deviations should satisfy the Gallavotti-Cohen fluctuation theorem. We will explore the range of its validity.
