Project Details
Transcriptional and epigenetic control of endothelial cell fate, plasticity and instructive signaling in the heart (A03)
Subject Area
Cardiology, Angiology
Term
since 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 394046768
The focus of project A03 will lie on understanding the molecular determinants and the role of biomechanical stimuli in endothelial cell fate and plasticity as well as the instructive functions of distinct endothelial cell sub-populations in controlling heart structure and function. Experiments will be pursued aiming at (i) unraveling the regulatory networks governing endothelial fate and plasticity in heart development and function, (ii) underpinning the role of angiocrine signaling on cardiomyocyte proliferation and growth, contractility and rhythmicity, and (iii) characterizing the role of biomechanical forces in controlling endothelial fate and function in the heart.
