Brain endothelial cell-derived angiocrine factors and their role in neurodevelopment (A02)

Subject Area Cardiology, Angiology
Term since 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 394046768

Project A02 will investigate the importance of endothelial cell-derived, YAP/TAZ-regulated angiocrine acting Endothelin-1 (and other novel identified factors) as modulator of neural cell maturation and function. The tri-cellular interplay between blood vessels, astrocytes and neurons will in this context be studied and how this impacts dendritogenesis and synaptogenesis of neurons. Further focus will be placed on the interplay between VEGF, Wnt and Hippo pathway signaling on modulating YAP/TAZ-dependent transcriptional programs and the heterocellular crosstalk in the central nervous system.
