Project Details
Transport properties of electron-phonon coupled systems (B09)
Subject Area
Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Term
since 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 217133147
This project aims at elucidating the interplay between the electronic and phononic sector in transport problems and in the energy-transfer processes between these subsystems. We employ model-based computational simulations to study polaronic charge and energy transport in spatially inhomogeneous systems, dynamical quantities such as the optical conductivity and spectral functions, and the real-time dynamics of polaronic charge carriers. Several manifestations of spatial inhomogeneity will be considered, including interfaces, charge-density wave states, disorder, and transient density variations resulting from different relaxation times of electrons versus phonons.
