Project Details
Tool sided surface modifications in industrial environment (T03)
Subject Area
Primary Shaping and Reshaping Technology, Additive Manufacturing
Term
from 2019 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 68237143
Sheet bulk metal forming is limited by its tribological loads in the forming of filigree functional elements. The transfer project investigates the effectiveness of tool sided, material flow controlling surface modifications for improving the die filling in an industrial environment. In order to evaluate industrial influences on the effectiveness of the modifications, 20,000 pre-economical parts are manufactured by the industrial partner. Based on the results of the forming experiments, application limits of local, tool sided surface modifications are determined and the fundamental scientific results of the collaborative research centre Transregio 73 are evaluated under industry-relevant conditions.
