Manufacturing of Tailored Blanks by orbital forming for industrial applications (T02)

Subject Area Primary Shaping and Reshaping Technology, Additive Manufacturing
Term from 2019 to 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 68237143

Project Description

The subject of the proposal is the extension of the scientific findings and the identified process limits of an orbital forming process through the development and application of tailor-made process strategies for steel and aluminium materials with high industrial relevance. In cooperation with the project partners, process strategies are defined and implemented, including heat treatment. The central challenge here is the material flow control, which, based on the results from project A1 of the TCRC 73, is to be transferred from the production of process-adapted semi-finished parts to manufacturing of components by consideration of industry-relevant boundary conditions.
