The investigation of building materials and construction components normally take part under standard climate or rather laboratory climate with nearly constant temperature and relative humidity. Due to the fact that in practice the used materials are exposed to different climatical conditions during its processing as well as during its usage, an awareness of the environmental impacts is needed for a realistic assessment of the properties of building materials and construction components. Such investigations on larger components or test series with a high number of test specimens cannot be carried out with climatic chambers due to the insufficient volume capacity, which is why the acquisition of the requested double climatic chamber is urgently necessary for current and planned research projects. Furthermore, the size of the climatic chamber makes it possible to perform selected tests under different climatic conditions under which the complete test setups can be positioned in the climatic cell and thus realistic ambient conditions can be simulated. The planned design as a double climate chamber with "replaceable" partition wall opens up further variation possibilities, as the influences of temperature and humidity gradients on both sides of the components can be investigated here.
