Higher-level system for uniform condition assessment of medium-voltage power cables based on different diagnostic methods
Subject Area
Electrical Energy Systems, Power Management, Power Electronics, Electrical Machines and Drives
Term
from 2020 to 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 416779391
The aim of the project is the creation of a rating system for a uniform condition assessment of medium-voltage cable systems in order to generate valid, realistic assessment results based on on-site measurements using diagnostic methods. On the basis of the measurement results of the various known diagnostic methods, which provide different parameters, a comparable, uniform evaluation result will be generated. The significance of different diagnostic methods with regard to various, numerous existing relevant conditions (e.g. partial discharges, thermal aging, etc.) should also be taken into account. In order to use the limited resources optimally, condition indices based on underlying diagnostic methods represent an important basis. However, the condition indices have to be comparable and independent of the respective medium-voltage cable system and the selected diagnostic method. In order to achieve this, the different properties of the diagnostic methods and the individual compositions of the medium-voltage cables have to be taken into account. In particular, the following parts are pursued in this project: Identification of relevant processes that lead to a loss of substance; Determination of the significance of all relevant diagnostic methods used for condition assessment; Generation of comparable condition indices considering all relevant diagnostic methods and creation of a uniform system for condition assessment
