Project Description

The aim of the transfer project is an improved analysis of the thermo-elastic behaviour of current 5-axis machine tools. A simulation technology developed at IWM will be used for this purpose. It is transfered from the simple axis units previously investigated to complex turn-and-swivel units. The simulation technology is used in the selection and design process of typical measures that improve the thermal behaviour. This is done using the turn-and-swivel table of a current machine of the application partner DECKEL MAHO.
