The funding proposal submitted by Bayerische Staatsbibliothek within the Call for Proposals "Open Access Transition Agreements" focuses on the cross-regional provision of relevant electronic resources for scholarship and science. Apart from improving access to academic resources the proposal puts major emphasis on the development of licensing standards and innovative licensing models within the framework of the Open Access transformation process. Bayerische Staatsbibliothek intends to conclude an Open Access transition agreement for the Cambridge Journals Online of the publisher Cambridge University Press under a publish&read model. Scholars of participating institutions not only have the right to read the journals of the licensed portfolio, but as corresponding authors they can also publish in Open Access without limit in the hybrid journals on offer. The proposal aims at an agreement with an internationally renowned publishing house whose journals’ portfolio covers a broad range of disciplines, including the humanities and social sciences. The project thus intends to contribute to the Open Access transformation process.
