Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences is applying for funding from the “Open Access Publishing” programme in order to expand significantly an already existing Open Access publishing fund that is financed by the university library and one of the departments. This measure seeks to initiate the establishment of permanent and reliable structures to increase the quota of quality assured Gold Open Access publications authored by the university’s reseachers. Parallel actions include implementing an institutional repository, a reward scheme for research output as well as a comprehensive range of accompanying support services. The project is part of Bielefeld UAS's overarching research strategy, which is designed to create more visibility and sustainability for the institution’s reasearch activities and inspire reaseachers to start new projects.
