Project Details
Controlled nanoporsity of plasma membranes (B07*)
Subject Area
Thermodynamics and Kinetics as well as Properties of Phases and Microstructure of Materials
Term
from 2018 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 138690629
Since a few years it is known, that microporous polymer layers show remarkable separation properties, when exposed to gas mixtures. Based on their nanometer-sized porosity, special gas membrane interactions occur, which are complex and not yet understood, but also show great potential for application in technical gas separation processes. This sub-project investigates, whether nanometer-sized layers with tailored microporosity and molecular topology can be synthesized via plasma deposition techniques. The aim of the sub-project is to develop a complete correlation between synthesis parameters and separation properties.
