Project Details
Experimental analysis of thermo-mechanical properties of thermal spray coatings (A12)
Subject Area
Coating and Surface Technology
Term
since 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 236616214
The aim of the subproject is the precise design of thermally sprayed heating systems to control melt-based manufacturing processes. In the past phase, the suitability of thermally sprayed coatings for influencing the mould surface temperature in casting processes was demonstrated and the process understanding for their manufacturing was improved. On this basis, an inline temperature control system will be developed using the temperature-dependent properties of the flat heating elements. The acquired knowledge about thermo-mechanical properties and process parameters from the previous and future phase will be transferred into prediction models for the decisive properties.
