Synthesis of Transition Metal Oxides with Controlled Mesostructure (C01)

Subject Area Solid State and Surface Chemistry, Material Synthesis
Term since 2018
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 388390466

Project Description

Project C01 develops mesostructured metal-doped (Fe, V, and Mn) Co3O4 and LaCoO3 powders with tunable morphology using two complementary approaches: hard templating with post-treatment and crystalline precursor decomposition. Their catalytic properties are studied in OER coupled with Raman microscopy and ICP-OES, and aerobic alcohol oxidation. Similar to all projects in Area C “Synthesis”, materials will be delivered to Area A and Area B projects and results from these collaborations will be used for iterative optimization of the synthesis methods and for the selection of target materials.
