Modeling, Simulation, and Emulation of Memreactive Devices for Self-organizing Oscillator Circuits

Subject Area Electronic Semiconductors, Components and Circuits, Integrated Systems, Sensor Technology, Theoretical Electrical Engineering
Term from 2018 to 2024
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 404291403

In this research project it is intended to model, simulate, and emulate memreactive devices like capacities or inductivities with memory. The emulation mimics these memreactive devices, which can be incorporated into an electrical circuit. In order to avoid stability problems caused by these emulated devices the memreactive devices are not only modeled with respect to their mathematical functionality but also with respect to their losslessness. With these electrical models an equivalent electrical circuit can describe real memreactive devices in an energetic consistent manner and incorporate losses by resistances with or without memory. In order to illustrate the potential of these devices it is planned to exploit memreactive devices to adapt the resonance frequency of oscillator circuits. As an application example a memristive oscillator for the anticipation of regularly emerging pulses, which is known from literature, will be extended such that the electrical circuit is able to anticipate irregularly appearing pulses. Based on this circuit a software demonstrator will be set up anticipating an irregularly emerging picture and structurally exploiting the redundancy of this picture.
