The priority program on skyrmionics supports fundamental research towards the development of devices and applications based on topological spin solitons, alluding to skyrmions as most prominent examples. It is motivated by the discovery of skyrmion lattices and isolated skyrmions in magnetic materials exhibiting bulk or interface inversion-asymmetry and associated Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interactions. It comprises also a wide range further classes of magnetic materials including tailored thin film and nano-systems.The coordination project of SPP2137 promotes collaborations and the exchange of know-how amongst the participating groups, as well as of with the international scientific community. To achieve these goals financial support is requested for administrational assistance, the organization of retreat meetings, training of the young researchers participating in the priority program, a summer school, an international conference, gender and diversity measures, and public outreach.
