The subproject D1 N develops methods for the design of processes in early phases and plays a central coordinating role in the project area D. By applying the methods and tools for process devel-opment under uncertainties and in close collaboration with the other projects, a fast, model-based process design for the reductive amination in a thermomorphic (TMS) and a micellar solvent system (MLS) and for the hydroaminomethylation in TMS up to validation in miniplants are carried out. Itera-tively, reaction engineering experiments, thermophysical property modelling and reactor- and flow-sheet optimizations are performed.
