We investigate the ultrafast spin-dependent carrier dynamics and spin-transport processes in heterostructures of magnetic oxides, primarily the ferromagnetic insulator EuO, combining several complementary ultrafast techniques available within the CRC. Thin films of EuO grown by molecular beam epitaxy on various substrates will be investigated by femtosecond time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray magnetic circular dichroism, THz spectroscopy and magneto-optics to understand the spin-dependent scattering processes and transport phenomena in such heterostructures.
