Atmospheric pressure plasma sources exhibit unique, electron-driven chemical kinetics at low gas temperatures. Plasma-chemical reaction pathways in these systems involve a large number of both gas and surface reactions. The rates of individual reactions are strongly influenced by parameters such as the gas and surface temperature and the electron kinetics. This project seeks to study the influence of these parameters on the overall plasma-chemical kinetics occurring in plasma jets and surface confined discharges produced in (He)/N2/O2, He/Ar/CO2, and (He)/N2/H2 mixtures. This will be achieved be extending the global model and gas phase reaction kinetics developed in this project in the first period by the addition of new modules for surface chemical kinetics, gas and surface temperature calculations and a flexible treatment of the electron kinetics.
