From ns- to ms-pulses — influence of voltage characteristics on surface dielectric barrier discharges (A05)

Subject Area Optics, Quantum Optics and Physics of Atoms, Molecules and Plasmas
Term since 2018
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 327886311

Project Description

A synergistic combination of simulations and experiments will be applied to gain a fundamental understanding of surface dielectric barrier discharges driven by tailored voltage shapes. The goal of the comprehensive studies is to address important issues such as energetic electron dynamics and particle transport along with gas-phase reactions and plasma-catalyst interactions. Various tailored electrode structures will be used to investigate how, for example, ammonia synthesis and - in collaboration with other CRC projects - plasma catalytic VOC conversion can be understood and improved.
