Excitation transfer between molecules in transient atmospheric pressure plasmas and its impact on plasma chemistry (A03)

Subject Area Optics, Quantum Optics and Physics of Atoms, Molecules and Plasmas
Term since 2018
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 327886311

Project Description

The project aims at a fundamental understanding of the plasma conversion of molecules adjacent catalytic active surfaces depending on plasma excitation. This is evaluated by using Fourier transform infrared absorption (FTIR) and molecular beam mass spectrometry (MBMS) in combination with an analysis of the catalytic surfaces using infrared reflection absorption techniques (IRRAS). The reaction chemistry is evaluated theoretically by a data driven approach.
