Cancer – microenvironment interactions in the progression to invasive squamous cell carcinoma (B11*)

Subject Area Dermatology
Term from 2018 to 2021
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 89986987

DEB (Dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, a blistering disease of the skin, caused by collagen VII mutations) is characterized by a high penetrance, early-onset cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas (cSCCs) with aggressive metastasis. B11 will investigate the mechanisms that create an altered microenvironment and how the altered tumor microenvironment contributes to the invasive properties of DEB associated cSCCs.
