aviDa - Establishment of a research data centre for audio-visual data of qualitative social research

The aim of the project is to transfer the successful proof of concept from the first exploratory period of the project “aviDa - Development of a Research Data Infrastructure for audio-visual Data of Qualitative Social Research” into standard operation. The developed infrastructure for the archiving and re-use of videographic data is to be consolidated and expanded into an interdisciplinary scientific public research data centre for qualitative audio-visual research data. For this purpose, further needs and new requirements of the extended circle of users are to be collected, evaluated and used to develop appropriate packages of measures. Based on this, a service and organisation concept for the operating procedures, including a consulting and financing model, will be tested, adapted to practical use and transferred to standard operation. In addition, new, demand-oriented features are to be integrated into the technical infrastructure and a comprehensive technical operating concept for the expansion of aviDa into a publicly accessible research data centre for the audio-visual research community is to be developed, tested and installed. An accreditation by the German Data Forum (RatSWD) is being sought. In addition, a series of workshops are planned for the dissemination of the project results.
