Targeting of TNFR2 and related molecules to separate GvHD from the GvL effect (B02)

Subject Area Hematology, Oncology
Immunology
Term since 2018
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 324392634

CSF2+ T cells are critical mediators of immune-mediated tissue-damage in various autoimmune diseases. Our own studies on their role within the pathogenesis of acute GvHD have demonstrated that CSF2+ donor T cells crucially contribute to intestinal GvHD manifestation. The overall goal of this research project is to gain molecular and functional insights into the type of signals (e.g. intestinal microbiota) involved in the regulation of CSF2+ donor T cells. Moreover, pathogenic effects elicited by CSF2+ donor T cells will be functionally studied with the ultimate goal to develop novel CSF2+ donor T cell-directed strategies for the treatment of acute GvHD.
