Subject Area

Term
since 2018
Project identifier

This project aims to develop methods for the continuous-time estimation as well as the stabilization and tracking control of cell size distributions in fermentation processes with unmeasured exogenous perturbations using continuous-time and discrete-time measurements. The underlying mathematical models are given in the form of coupled nonlinear ordinary and partial integro-differential equations. The methodic approaches are based on the application of finite-dimensional concepts on spatially discretized models as well as the consideration of the continous limit case. Experimental studies on the basis of fermentation of bakers yeast Saccaromyces cerevisae will acompany the complete project.
