Cell-cell interactions controlling organ shape (B06)

Using zebrafish primordial germ cells (PGCs) as a model, we will study the cellular mechanisms responsible for the positioning of migratory cells within a developing organ. The proposed project focuses on the analysis of the behavior of the germ cells upon arrival at the position where the gonad develops. We will study this process in non-manipulated embryos and compare it with that in embryos knocked down for specific proteins we found to be express in relevant domains within the embryo.
