Term
from 2018 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 392377639
Scarcity of resources and relating thereto cost pressure requires the search for alternative cutting materials. One possibility is represented by natural stone, which exists in great quantity. Scientific knowledge about the manufacturing and the application of stone as cutting tools in modern production processes does not exist. First preliminary investigations show up the potential of stone as cutting material for the machining of lightweight and non-ferrous metals. The research project deals with the systematic investigation of the manufacturing and the application of cutting tools made of stone.
