The volume collects positions from literary studies, history of art, jurisprudence, urban studies, and computer science. lt is dedicated to a category which has been often used but never given an exact profile; however, this category allows us to rethink processes of giving form , the role of literary genres, and the functionality of historicising operations. What does the complexity of poetic productions consist in? What is the relation between aesthetic and other phenomena of complexity? Which difference does the decision between complex and simple texts, artefacts or cultural semantics make, and which are the criteria for this decision? How can an interdisciplinary vocabulary be developed, that doesn't restrict complexity to modernity alone, privileging the supposed new before the alleged older?
