In project B2, we use tailored, resonant microwave fields for addressing various questions around molecular chirality. Our approach is a coherent, non-linear spectroscopy technique that allows us to identify, quantify, manipulate, and control the chirality of molecules in the gas phase. Enantiomer-selective population transfer between states can be achieved. It is particularly interesting to apply this to flexible molecules exhibiting chiral tunneling and molecules containing high-Z elements, which are predicted to show a comparatively large parity violation effect. The high control of chiral molecules that we aim for will then be exploited for further experiments, such as precision spectroscopy.
