The research project investigates the spatial dimension of mini-publics, a (political) practice to form informed „public opinions” in small groups. Combining discourse analysis with ethnographic methods, the analysis focuses on the question of how locally dispersed political formats are rela-tionally arranged to produce discursive representations and material connections by circulating people, language-based media and artefacts; it also asks which are the effects on and implica-tions for a translocal standardization of political action.
