Project Details
Tailored delivery of anti-inflammatory natural drugs using polymer-based nanocarriers to prevent cytokine and eicosanoid storms in infectious inflammation (C02)
Subject Area
Pharmacy
Term
since 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 316213987
Anti-inflammatory drugs will be evaluated for interfering with cytokine and eicosanoid storms in infectious inflammation such as sepsis and Covid-19. They will be encapsulated by appying new sustainable techniques for polymeric nanoparticles with different stealth moieties and specific targeting strategies for the treatment of M1 / M2 macrophages and SARS-CoV-2-infected epithelial cells. Using microfluidic biochips, a shell-less hen´s egg, and a murine peritonitis model, the influence of environmental factors will be evaluated.
