Project Details
Metabolic reprogramming and control of autophagy in HCC progression (B02+)
Subject Area
Gastroenterology
Term
from 2017 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 314905040
Recent research of project B02 (Nordheim/Proikas-Cezanne; Metabolic reprogramming and control of autophagy in HCC progression) has shown that SRF driven hyperproliferation is linked to drastic metabolic changes regarding energy metabolism (aerobic glycolysis), amino acid metabolism (glutaminolysis, serine synthesis), and mTORC1-controled cellular catabolism by autophagy. The project now aims to identify the network responsible for reprogramming of energy metabolism and characterize the tumor-related functions of glutaminolysis, one-carbon metabolism, and autophagy in the HCC mouse model displaying constitutive SRF activity.
