Project Details
Theory of Electronic Interface States in Weakly Bound Heterostructures (A13)
Subject Area
Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Term
since 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 223848855
At the interface between weakly bound low-dimensional materials the quantum-mechanical electronic structure forms characteristic states. Their spectra offer detailed insight into the microscopic structure of the interface, and the states form the basis for tailored functionalities in (opto-)electronic applications. The project aims at a theoretical description and quantitative evaluation of the interface states, in context with corresponding experiments within the CRC.
