The E9 project aims at developing a theoretical and methodological framework for key concepts of the CRC research that will elucidate materiality-agent-environment (social and physical) interactions. Theories and concepts derived from ethnography and the social sciences are integrated with the archaeological record to intertwine materiality and agency that shaped ‘archaeological industries’, ‘productive economies’, ‘mobility patterns’ and ‘human migrations’. The E9 project thus implements an epistemological platform for critically assessing and evaluating pivotal terminologies and concepts often used but seldom reflected on in relevant academic fields.
