Goal of the project is to investigate the stereoselective, intramolecular addition of chromones to alpha-ketoester and alpha,beta-diketoester. For the planned cyclizations to 5- and 6-membered rings the focus is on possibilities of substrate control by existing stereo centers and of catalyst control by chiral, chelating Lewis acids. Reference points for the proposed studies are the chromone natural products preussochromone A, D, E, F and the diversonolic ester alpha and beta.
