Project Details
Stringer Sheet Forming for Car Body Construction (T07#)
Subject Area
Primary Shaping and Reshaping Technology, Additive Manufacturing
Term
from 2017 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 13000367
In this transfer project, the basic knowledge of stringer sheet forming and the fundamental design methods developed within the Collaborative Research Centre 666 are transferred and expanded in cooperation with an industrial partner in order to produce three-dimensionally shaped, branched car body parts on an industrial scale. The aim of the project is to develop an industrial design methodology for process chains for manufacturing these car body sheet metal structures. The approach is industrially validated by a sheet metal prototype developed and manufactured within the project.
