Sensitivity analysis and uncertainty quantification of pulverized solid fuel combustion (B08)

Subject Area Energy Process Engineering
Term since 2017
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 215035359

Project Description

The objective of this project, in FP3, is to characterise sensitivities/uncertainties originating from the use of kinetic and hydrodynamic models in resolved simulations of solid fuel particles. This information will later be used to inform larger scale simulations of the existing uncertainties and sensitivi-ties due to such models. The sensitivities/uncertainties are determined using the adjoint-based algo-rithm developed and validated during FP2. Single and group particle regimes will be analysed, and in particular, sensitivities/uncertainties will be extracted with respect to particle shape and orientation.
