Project Details
Investigation of ignition and combustion processes of solid fuel particles under oxy-fuel conditions (B07)
Subject Area
Energy Process Engineering
Term
since 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 215035359
In this subproject the influence of the turbulent flow field on the ignition and combustion processes of biomass particles as a function of the particle loading density on the length scale of individual particles is investigated. For this purpose, a laminar flat flame burner and a turbulent hot gas test rig are used. The relevant chemical, thermodynamic and flow-mechanical parameters are recorded by means of optical diagnostics, whereby several parameters are measured simultaneously with high spatial and temporal resolution. The aim is to understand the coupling of the individual phenomena and to provide validation data.
