The scope of this priority program is to research the fundamentals for a targeted use of forming-induced residual stresses in metallic parts. To reach this goal, there are challenges to overcome in the different subject areas, but a successful outcome can be only achieved by the cooperation of the different areas of expertise. Therefore, a coordination funds is being applied for, to not only solve the interdisciplinary challenges but also to provide the research community with the thus gathered results.
